MAIN DESCRIPTION
What Flight Is Made Of turns the surface of a monarch butterfly wing into something larger, stranger, and more abstract. Dark violet, reddish purple, orange, vermillion, and baby yellow move across the canvas in broken sections, creating the feeling of wing structure seen at extreme closeness.
The title comes from that shift in scale. Instead of showing the butterfly itself, the painting focuses on the hidden architecture of flight: the dark divisions, warm fields, small cellular passages, and layered pattern that make something delicate feel powerful when magnified.
Created for The Finders Collection, the piece carries a sense of discovery into both its image and its future path. It asks the viewer to look closer, where a familiar natural form becomes unfamiliar again.
