Polar Displacement sets stacked geometric planes into quiet disagreement, each canvas rotated just past center so no edge fully aligns. Saturated currents of cobalt, violet, and electric turquoise move across the structure like shifting magnetic fields, pulling the eye along routes that never quite settle. The composition holds tension without resolving it, asking the viewer to stay inside the misalignment rather than look for a perfect center.
Dimensional layering pushes sections of the painting forward while others recede, creating a sculptural surface that behaves less like a flat image and more like an active field. As the integrated LED light grazes the raised forms, certain passages flare while others sink into shadow, allowing the work to change character as the surrounding light shifts. It feels slightly off in a controlled way—more orientation mid-shift than collapse—turning instability into its primary point of focus.
