MAIN DESCRIPTION
Ghost in the Lacquer takes its name from an unexpected surface reaction that happened after the painting appeared fully dry. The work had been drying for more than 48 hours, and both by touch and appearance, it seemed completely cured. When the varnish or lacquer was applied, certain areas streaked as though the paint beneath was still wet.
That reaction gave the painting its glitched appearance. Instead of simply sealing the surface, the finishing layer revealed something still active underneath. The result is a piece that carries the trace of that moment: a ghost-like interruption where the painting seemed to resist being finished.
Rather than hiding the reaction, the final work keeps it as part of its identity. Ghost in the Lacquer is about that strange moment when a painting looks complete, but the surface tells another story.

One-of-One Works (Paintings and Forge B.O.X.es)
All one-of-one works produced by Creatively Cutz originate in the studio of the artist and are documented through the studio archive.
Each piece begins as an original abstract acrylic painting created by the artist using fluid acrylic techniques. Because these paintings are created through a natural process of color movement, interaction, and surface chemistry, every foundation painting is inherently unique and cannot be reproduced.
When used within the Forge system, these original paintings serve as the foundation layer for a dimensional B.O.X. artwork. Additional layered design elements are constructed and assembled in the studio to complete the final work. Since each Forge B.O.X. is built upon a singular abstract foundation, no two finished pieces can ever be identical.
Every work is assigned a unique archive record and corresponding UPC/COA number at the time of completion. The number is recorded within the Creatively Cutz studio archive and appears on the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.
Documentation maintained by the studio includes creation records, photographic documentation of the foundation artwork, and production details associated with the final piece. These records establish the permanent provenance of the work as an original creation of the artist and the Creatively Cutz studio.
