The Finder’s Collection: Birthday Edition

Another year older.

Four original paintings.

One birthday art drop.

On Thursday, July 30, I’m celebrating my birthday by sending four one-of-one original paintings out into the world as a special Birthday Edition of The Finder’s Collection.

The drop begins at 10:30 AM—a daytime nod to the fact that I was actually born at 10:30 PM. I may be willing to give away original artwork on my birthday, but I already have plans that evening.

Each featured work is an original 16 × 20-inch acrylic painting by JD Hecht. Once released, every painting will be free to take, free to leave, and completely one-of-one.

A rhythmic composition filled with tropical color, layered motion, and its own visual tempo.

Intense color and sweeping movement come together in a fiery abstract dance.

A vivid dreamscape of saturated color, fluid forms, and shifting organic movement.

The four drop locations have not yet been selected. Location clues and release updates will be shared through Creatively Cutz Studio as the drop unfolds.

If You Find One

Finding one of these paintings means you may take it home for free—but please follow the instructions attached to the artwork.

Before moving it:

1. Take a photograph of the painting exactly where you found it.

2. Scan the QR code on the label.

3. Register your find and share its story.

4. Give your new original artwork a home.

Registration officially transfers the painting into the finder’s care and allows Creatively Cutz Studio to document where its journey continues.

About The Finder’s Collection

The Finder’s Collection places one-of-one original artwork into public spaces for people to unexpectedly discover and claim.

There is no purchase required. The artwork is not abandoned or discarded. Each piece is intentionally released as part of an ongoing creative project that follows its journey from the studio, to its release location, and ultimately to the person who finds it.

This Birthday Edition continues that mission on a larger scale—with original 16 × 20-inch paintings created right here in Old Hickory.
