MAIN DESCRIPTION
The Break Reaches Forward is a mixed media artwork built from acrylic on canvas with raised foamboard construction. The surface is dominated by a red-orange field filled with cellular texture and subtle movement, while long white and teal dimensional strips shoot outward from a dark, fractured point near the upper left. The raised forms create hard shadows and directional force, making the piece feel like movement has been physically built into the canvas.
As the second piece in the Built from the Break Collection, the work carries the collection’s core idea of interruption, rebuilding, and emergence. The dark clustered point reads like the moment of impact, while the strips reaching across the surface feel like pressure refusing to stay contained. Rather than staying trapped at the break, the piece pushes forward, turning rupture into motion.

Layered design elements are then constructed and assembled in the studio to complete the finished piece.
